Resources & Help for Distressed Persons

If this is an emergency or is life-threatening, please call 911

If you are distressed and considering harming yourself, please call 1-800-273-8255 to talk to someone who can help or go to the site https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ where there is a “chat” button at the top right corner.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, please call 1-800-799-7233 for help or visit http://www.thehotline.org/ where you can chat with someone.

If your employer is treating you unfairly because of your mental disability, please look at this website https://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/publications/mental_health.cfm because you DO have rights and you CANNOT be fired over a mental disability.

In the meantime, reach out to friends, family, hotlines, therapists, anyone who can be there, including myself. NEVER feel guilty for needing help, because, guess what, you are going to pay it forward. Someday, you will be the one supporting someone else. You will be the one on the other side who is there supporting someone else in need, and you’ll understand what they’re experiencing. Never give up, friends.

Don’t be afraid to reach out! We all need help sometimes- it takes bravery to reach out.
